CTMH Test Panel

On Sunday, a couple of fellow consultants and I held our first ever CTMH Test Panel. We invited some folks who we thought might enjoy seeing and testing out the new products, looking at some products in ways they've never seen before, and trying out products they never thought they would try. We had forms available to attendees to provide feedback on the various items. We had displays for everything, free make and takes, raffle prizes and tasty refreshments. Everyone, and I mean everyone, walked out knowing more than they knew before and had nothing but nice comments to make!

Here are the comments from one of my customers: "Oh my goodness ladies, you definitely out did yourselves! What an event!!!!! I enjoyed each station where we learned about the new products and even some of the older products that I thought I wouldn't like but now I'm interested in. We had make-and-takes, free food and prizes to win! This was like a mini convention. So professional. Thank you for all of your hard work. I had a great time."

Here are some of the pictures from this event. If you weren't able to attend this time, I promise we will be doing this again, likely early next year!

TBT

For today's TBT I pulled out a card I made with CTMH's retired Silhouette paper.  This card shown on my Instagram account was one of our most beloved and versatile paper packs from our Spring 2008 Idea Book.  It is a testament to this paper that people still see it and want to get their hands on it!

When I decided to make this card, it was because I wanted to learn how to do teabag folding, a technique that I thought lended itself to this paper due to the color scheme and patterns.  A simple red sparkle gave it just a little pop of color that I thought it needed.

Do you have samples of this paper that you would like to share?  Do you still have some that you're hoarding?  ;)  Have you tried teabag folding?  I would love to hear your experiences so please don't be shy and share!

TBT

Music evokes so much emotion in me!  It helps me decompress and honestly helps facilitate my creative juices.  Enjoy one of my faves from 2011 for #TBT!

TBT

I'm posting this TBT for two reasons. First, it of course represents TBT in that the picture shows my beautiful son in 2006 in the high school marching band.  The band was getting ready to march for the city Christmas parade.  I persuaded my son to hold off meeting with his friends and band mates to let me take a few pictures.  After a few faint grumbles, he consented.  What is it about a young man in uniform!

Second, this is a reminder to everyone that its never too late to start scrapbooking and documenting your memories!  I still haven't scrapbooked these photos, but I am working my way through all my old photographs.  Please visit my Instagram post linked at the right of this page.  You will see some old and some recently scrapbooked photos that were taken awhile back.  Don't know where to start?  Contact me for suggestions!

Does the task sound daunting?  You can try digital scrapbooking!  CTMH's Studio J is a fabulous option to try capturing those photos and memories.  All you need is a computer!  No purchase is necessary unless/until you decide you are happy enough with the finished pages to purchase them.  All the software is online on my website!

Happy scrapping!

TBT

It's time for TBT again!  Today I chose a scrapbook page I made with a very old page kit that CTMH used to sell.  Anyone know what it is???

If you guessed the Easter My Reflections Collection Kit, you would be correct! Does anyone have a layout made with the kit that they would like to share? That reminds me! I need to get out my old fibers and use them... ;)

Early Release of Selected CTMH Products

Did I get your attention?  Yes, Close To My Heart has a new Cricut cartridge to add to your collection!  In fact it is available for purchase right now!!!  The new CTMH Annual Inspirations was released to consultants earlier this month at convention.  I was lucky enough to be able to attend and see the new products first hand!  Although I have many of these items in my hands and being shipped right at this moment, the publication and most products are not available yet to customers until September 1, 2015.  HOWEVER, CTMH has released a select set of items for sale early to include the exciting new CRICUT cartridge as well as a new paper pack and embellishments to complement it!  In fact I have created a two-page layout using the new Zoe Workshop on the Go® to include the Zoe assortment and Coral Shimmer Trim.  One of the layouts can be seen here.  Please click on my Instagram link to the right to see the second layout.

The following products are currently available to order from my website. You can click on each of the items to see an image depicting the item itself. Happy shopping and "Cricuting"!

TBT

I suspect not everyone is familiar with the acronym "TBT", but many of you reading this have likely seen it.  For those of you who are not familiar, it means "Throw Back Thursday" and has become a widely used acronym and hashtag across the internet to typically show pictures, images and other items from years past.  Therefore, I thought it might be fun to do a weekly feature to include the same, whether it be old cards, layouts, photos, etc.  In fact, if you want to join in, please attach a comment with your own TBT for the week!

For this week, I wanted to do something "summery" while we're still in the middle of summer.  I found a card I had made using the long retired "Whoops A Daisy" paper pack and the "Life's a Jungle" stamp set.  As many of you recall, the paper pack was quite a boisterous one, but I truly came to love it!  I used our CTMH markers of the time to color in the parrot and used our large brads to embellish.  The design pattern came out of the Originals Card Confidence Program, which I'm happy to say is still available to purchase because I love that book so much.  If you make cards and don't own it, it is well worth the purchase!

Blossom Card Workshop!

Blossom is an amazingly gorgeous paper pack!  I have used it for so many things, I decided that I really needed to share and do a card workshop before it finally goes away.

For this workshop, we will be making 20 cards using 10 patterns.  You will be assembling the cards using pre-cut pieces, Glacier twine and plenty of sparkles!  You can even choose the sentiments you want to use on each of your cards!

Here is a sample of just 5 of the cards you will be making as shown from my Instagram site:

August 2015 Stamp of the Month - Framed

The "Framed" Stamp of the Month for August is perfect for applying sentiments to cards and other paper crafting projects. For the following sample from my Instagram account, I used the Blossom paper pack with this stamp set to create a "thinking of you" card for a special person in my life. The sentiment and frame were both embossed using pigment ink and clear embossing powder. I love to emboss! If you've never embossed your ink, it is so simple and produces such a beautiful effect. It makes you feel like a chemist! (At least it does me. :) ).
Remember that you can purchase the new D-size Stamp of the Month stamp set, available for one month only, for just $5 — that’s over 70% off retail! When you place an order of $50 or more in Close To My Heart products, you qualify for this special Stamp of the Month pricing. Otherwise, you can purchase this set outright for $17.95.
